A Toledo metal-finishing firm has received a proposed fined of $22,400 for safety violations found during a federal inspection last year.

Rea Polishing Inc. of 1606 Laskey Rd. was cited for eight “serious” violations and one “other than serious” violation between June and December last year when inspectors from the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration conducted their on-site inspections.

The violations ranged from exposure to occupational noise and improper guards on safety equipment to employees being exposed to dust particles in amounts that exceed safety regulations. The company has 15 days to comply, request an informal conference with OSHA officials, or contest the findings.
