MONROE — Furniture maker La-Z-Boy Inc. on Tuesday reported a fiscal third-quarter profit of $17.1 million, or 32 cents a share, up 14 percent over the same period a year ago, when its profits totaled $15 million, or 28 cents per share.
La-Z-Boy, the Monroe-based maker of its trademark recliner chair, said its fiscal 2013 quarterly revenues totaled $349.1 million, up 10 percent over the fiscal third quarter of 2012. Sales in the company’s upholstered furniture segment rose 12.3 percent to $280 million, while sales of its wooden furniture were down 4.7 percent to $32.6 million. Sales in its retail segment were up 24.6 percent to $72.8 million.
