Mexican restaurant in Maumee closed by Texas-based owners

Abuelo’s Mexican Food Embassy, a Mexican cuisine chain restaurant at 3415 Briarfield Blvd. in Maumee, has been closed permanently by its Texas-based owners.

Melanie Carroll, a spokesman for privately held Food Concepts International LP of Lubbock, Texas, said the Maumee restaurant closed on March 11 as part of an operational decision of the company. The restaurant, she said, had been affected by the economy.
