Bank forecloses on Hotel at UTMC

3/29/2013

The former Toledo Hilton Hotel, now operating as the Hotel at UTMC, has been foreclosed on.

In a complaint filed Wednesday in Lucas County Common Pleas Court, the U.S. Bank National Association claims Amazing Grace Hotels LLC defaulted on a $9.3 million loan it took out in 2007. The bank said Amazing Grace stopped making monthly payments beginning Feb. 1. It is seeking a foreclosure sale.

On Dec. 31, the 210-room hotel was dropped from the Hilton chain. A month later, its name was changed, and its owner told The Blade the company was in the process of selling the property. Neither the owner, Grace Chojnowski-Kellogg, nor her attorney, Timothy Horne, could be reached for comment Thursday.
