BX Solutions Inc. will lay off 95 of its approximately 250 employees, the Swanton company said in a letter to the Ohio Department of Job & Family Services.

The logistics company had announced on April 12 that it expected to lay off a significant part of its work force because its primary customer withdrew from a long-term contract. At the time, company President Chris Marshall said the exact number of layoffs had not been determined.

BX Solutions moved into the former BAX Global Inc. hub at Toledo Express Airport in late 2011 after BAX pulled out.

In its letter to the state agency, BX Solutions said it expected the layoffs to be permanent. The letter was written pursuant to the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act, which requires 60 days notice before layoffs occur. BX said that was impossible because of the sudden loss of a major customer.
