LANSING — The Monroe area’s seasonally unadjusted unemployment rate rose to 9.5 percent in July from 8.8 percent in June, according to state data.

Michigan said the unadjusted jobless rate rose statewide and in most of its regional labor markets. Officials said the increases reflect typical seasonal employment changes.

The statewide rate was 9.7 percent in July, compared with 9.4 percent in June.
