Lucas County commissioners have approved a 10-year, 100 percent property tax abatement for Allermuir, which plans to relocate its furniture manufacturing operations to Monclova Township.

The enterprise-zone plan was approved 3-0 Tuesday, with provisions for the firm to pay Anthony Wayne Local Schools, Penta Career Center, and Monclova Township taxes that would have been paid in that time, said Theodore Foreman, Jr., economic development manager of the Lucas County Economic Development Corporation.

Allermuir is building a headquarters and factory at 4061 Technology Dr. and plans to create 56 more jobs in the next three years. It employs 53 people at its Maumee facility.
