Gridlock grinch

Not much can be done to alleviate West Toledo’s traffic congestion during the holiday season. But it’s still important that local officials do their part to limit the gridlock.

The city of Toledo and Columbia Gas have agreed on a shopper-friendly schedule for gas-line construction along Monroe Street and Secor Road. Officials have put the project on hiatus until January, improving traffic flow in one of the area’s busiest shopping corridors.

Columbia Gas is 90 percent done with the project, which involves the replacement of 7,000 feet of gas main. Delaying its completion a bit should help local businesses and their customers, by keeping down the frustration level.
