Notre Dame students want used cell phones

3/21/2001

Students studying environmental science at Notre Dame Academy are asking residents with used cell phones to donate them to a program to provide them to victims of domestic violence.

The student-sponsored project called Donate-A-Phone pre-programs the phones to dial 911 and a nonemergency number, such as a domestic violence shelter, a police nonemergency phone number, or a domestic violence counselor.

For information on where cell phones can be sent, contact Notre Dame Academy.
