Ex-Oregon superintendent to run Perrysburg schools

7/26/2001

Robert Pfefferle, former superintendent of Oregon public schools, is to begin his duties Wednesday as interim superintendent of Perrysburg public schools.

Perrysburg board members have approved a three-month contract with Mr. Pfefferle. The contract can be extended month-to-month as needed, interim treasurer Joseph Klein said yesterday. Mr. Pfefferle will be paid $407.28 per day, an amount comparable to the salary paid to Superintendent Sharon Zimmers, who is leaving the Perrysburg district to become superintendent of Dublin, Ohio, public schools.

The Perrysburg board is working with the Ohio School Boards Association in the search for a superintendent. That search, Mr. Klein said, “is just really getting started.”

Mr. Pfefferle was superintendent of Oregon schools for 15 years before resigning in 1999. He is now a part-time administrative consultant for the Lucas County educational service center.
