Bluffton program aims to improve advising

BLUFFTON — Bluffton College students have the option of tracking their progress toward graduation through an online advising program.

Beginning this fall, students and their advisers can store notes from advising meetings, review a list of courses the student has taken, consider the courses required to meet his or her objectives, including majors, minors, licensures, and credits, and see a list of courses the student still needs to take to graduate.

Sally Weaver Sommer, registrar, said the system should increase accuracy in student files and relieve stress related to dealing with the complicated and sometimes frustrating advising process.
