Dentist William Zouhary, making a point with an exhibit at a news conference, says students have too much access to soft drinks in Toledo Public Schools.

Dr. Zouhary joined other local health professionals and a member of the Toledo board of education yesterday at the Academy of Medicine on Secor Road to voice concern about soft drinks in schools. The group says too many soft drinks lead to cavities and other health problems.

David Welch, vice president of the school board, wants the district to alter its exclusive contract with Coca-Cola so soft drinks aren't available all day long.

Instead, he wants soft drinks to be sold only the last hour or two of the school day.
