Toledo schools assistant superintendent to retire

Earl Apgar, Toledo Public Schools assistant superintendent for human resources, will retire, effective July 1.

A former principal at DeVeaux Junior High School and school improvement leaders in the Rogers High School feeder pattern, Mr. Apgar, 58, has worked for the district for 35 years.

He will continue as a consultant to the district, working on issues related to junior highs and middle schools and the planned November levy to raise the local share of the $800 million Ohio School Facilities Commission project to rebuild, renovate, and replace the district's schools.
