Bath Local narrows search for superintendent to 8

3/21/2002

LIMA, Ohio - A local superintendent and a former area superintendent are among the eight candidates vying for the top seat at Bath Local school district.

Bill Lodermeier, superintendent of Pike-Delta-York Local school district in Fulton County, and Michael Estes, formerly of Elida and Spencerville Local school districts, are among those to be interviewed by the selection committee this week.

Superintendent Paul Assenheimer announced last fall that he will retire this summer.

Mr. Lodermeier was hired in August at Pike after leaving the superintendent's position at the Shawnee Local school district. He had held that position for eight years. Mr. Estes spent 26 years working for Elida Schools. He served as Spencerville superintendent for four years before leaving the area in 1999.

The selection committee is expected to narrow the list to three or four candidates after final interviews Saturday. It will then give recommendations to the board.
