Head Start workers sign for union representation

4/2/2002

COLUMBUS - Head Start employees in several northwest Ohio counties have signed on with the Ohio Association of Public School Employees for representation.

The union's director of organizing, Chuck Roginski, said yesterday that the group was pleased to be the exclusive bargaining representative for the Head Start program of the Hancock, Hardin, Putnam, Wyandot Community Action Commission.

The decision means that the union will represent the assistant teachers, bus drivers, bus monitors, cooks, and lead teachers.

The Ohio Association of Public School Employees represents more than 35,000 members in Ohio schools, public libraries, and Head Start agencies.
