Parade magazine features local teacher
12/11/2002Jean Sullivan, an art teacher at Sylvania's Timberstone Junior High School, will be featured in the Dec. 29 Parade magazine supplement in The Blade.
Ms. Sullivan was named Barbie Arts Teacher of the Year for a program that has her students design pieces of luggage to be given primarily to foster children.
The program is coordinated with Lucas County Children Services so the luggage illustrates the youngster's interests. Students often include gifts for those in foster care. Ms. Sullivan and the program will be included in the national magazine's Special Intelligence Report.
