Defiance High School gets a new principal

DEFIANCE — The Board of Education has hired a new principal for Defiance High School.

Fred Boring, one of three assistant principals at Zanesville High School in Zanesville, Ohio, will begin his new job Aug. 1. He replaces Obie Mouser, who previously announced his resignation.

Assistant Superintendent Ian MacGregor said yesterday Mr. Boring will be paid $74,812 for the first year of his two-year contract. The principal's contract will be reviewed for salary purposes at the end of the first year, Mr. MacGregor added.
