BLUFFTON, Ohio — Bluffton College collected more than $4.5 million in grants and financial contributions for the 2002-03 fiscal year, setting a record.
Total giving, including donations to the Bluffton College Fund, construction projects, and endowments, was $4,518.740. Nearly $2 million came from a grant from Lilly Endowment of Indianapolis for the college's new Pathways to Mission and Vocation project.
Gifts to the college fund, which supports current operations, totaled $1,032,510. Nearly $216,000 of that was raised during a weekend phone-a-thon during which several donors provided matching dollars.
College officials said 100 percent of full-time faculty members made a financial gift to the college by June 30.
