Maumee, Toledo, Oregon, Perrysburg: Scholarships

Nick Boyle of Maumee, a Central Catholic High School junior, was chosen by the school's coaching staff to receive the Hometown Marketing Player of the Year scholarship of $1,000. The scholarship may be used at a school of his choice.

Nick is a linebacker and fullback with Central's Fighting Irish football team.

He received First Team All-City honors for defense and Second Team All-City honors for offense this past season.

Samantha Mikolajczyk of Toledo, a Central Catholic High School senior, has received a $5,000 renewable academic scholarship and a $4,000 athletic scholarship from Ursuline College in Pepper Pike, Ohio for the next academic year.

She is a varsity volleyball and softball player.

Corey Bess of Oregon, a senior at Clay High School, has been awarded a renewable full tuition scholarship by Ashland University, based on his scores in the university's Scholar Test.

Craig Campbell, a senior at Perrysburg High School, and David Tighe of Toledo, a senior of St. Francis de Sales High School, have accepted Trustee Scholarships of $8,000 from Xavier University in Cincinnati. Samantha Brock of Toledo, a Central Catholic High School senior, will receive a $5,500 Presidential Scholarship from Xavier.

The three scholarships are renewable.
