Defiance College hires Pa. woman as dean

DEFIANCE - Defiance College has named an academic dean to replace a longtime college employee who's retiring.

Dr. Catharine O'Connell, current dean for academic affairs at Cabrini College in Pennsylvania, will begin her duties July 19.

Dr. O'Connell is to take over for Dr. Richard Stroede, who's been with Defiance College for four decades. The last 10 years he has served as academic dean.
