Maumee board hires principal for high school

The Maumee school board has hired Lawrence Caffro as the new principal at Maumee High School.

Mr. Caffro, who holds a master's degree in education, was formerly the principal of Lakewood High School, just west of Cleveland, and at Ashland High School near Mansfield, Ohio.

The Maumee school board voted earlier this week to give him a two-year contract. Mr. Caffro will receive $91,962 for his first year. The salary for his second year has not been decided.

Mr. Caffro will replace James Cellio, who is retiring in June after 10 years as Maumee High principal.
