Thirteen juveniles, ranging in age from 13 to 17 years, were picked up yesterday in a citywide truancy sweep.

Toledo police conducted the sweep, which netted eight boys and five girls. The sweep was held from 9 a.m. to noon, Sgt. Joe Heffernan said.

The juveniles were taken to the truancy drop-off center at the Mercy Healthcare Professional Building, 2238 Jefferson Ave., and either returned to school or released to their parents.

The students attend Jones, Leverette, and Robinson junior high schools and Libbey, Waite, and Woodward high schools.
