Taft selects student for BGSU board

COLUMBUS - Gov. Bob Taft yesterday announced the appointment of a new student member of the Bowling Green State University Board of Trustees.

Mr. Taft appointed Korine Steinke, a Bowling Green resident, to the board for a term that ends May 17, 2006.

Ms. Steinke, who is pursuing a master of arts degree at BGSU and has a bachelor of arts degree from Monmouth College, is a graduate academic adviser. She replaces Angie Williams-Chehmani, whose term expired. Board members are compensated for expenses only.

Also, Mr. Taft announced the reappointment of Barbara Floyd of Toledo to the Ohio Historical Records Advisory Board for a term that ends March 31, 2007. She is a university archivist and professor of library administration at the University of Toledo.

The board is the key liaison with the National Historic Records and Publications Commission, which awards federal funds for efforts to preserve historic documents. Board members are compensated for expenses only.
