Incumbents fare well in school elections

In late Monday election results from Lenawee County, Dundee voters returned John Moskwa and Paula Fisk to the local school board.

Mr. Moskwa had 147 votes and Ms. Fisk 127. Grant DeWitt finished third with 63 votes.

In Hillsdale County, Hillsdale school voters retained Robert Batt on the board. He bested write-in candidate Mark Nesbaun by 184 votes.

In Jonesville, with two board positions open, voters re-elected Rosemary Lance and also added write-in candidate Shelly Taylor, the mother of 15 children, the majority of whom attend Jonesville schools. Incumbent Jeff Rowe finished third followed by John Bolz.

Litchfield schools voters turned out incumbent Don Marshall, who finished behind Steve Wade and Jeff Friedline, both of whom were elected to the board.

Camden Frontier schools voters re-elected Gordon Vincent and Roger Pitts. Write-in candidate Jon Miller had tied Mr. Pitts with 70 votes, but two of the votes were invalidated.

In the North Adams-Jerome schools system, voters picked incumbent Rod Cortwright and Ann Farmer. Write-in candidate Bobbie Town finished third followed by Ronald Fox.

Pittsford turned out incumbent Pete Wines, who finished third behind newcomers Brian Hoard and David Billington.

In Reading, Bret Hutchins the incumbent board president, was defeated by Jeff Kovacic and Randy Sanders.

Nonhomestead bond renewals passed in Camden, Hillsdale, and Reading.
