A team of Perrysburg students that designed an educational
game for preschoolers won a prize in the national TOYchallenge
competition.
The contest, developed by Astronaut Sally Ride to get students
interested in science, was held Thursday in San Diego. The
game created by Perrysburg students Pamela Twu, Ellen Steele,
Nick Ames, and Emma Kuhl was one of 69 games and toys
entered in the competition.
The Perrysburg students, who will begin ninth grade in the fall,
made a game to teach young children about nutritional
foods. Their game won the top prize in the educational toys
for preschoolers category. Each member of the team, coached
by teacher Stephanie Tanner, received books and games.
