Northwood board raises school leader's salary

The Northwood Board of Education voted last night to give Superintendent Ron Matter a 3 percent pay raise, effective Sunday.

In a unanimous decision, Mr. Matter's salary was increased to $84,556 until next summer when the board will evaluate his performance again.

Mr. Matter has received a 2.5 percent to 3 percent pay raise every year since he became superintendent in 1998, when his salary was set at $66,000. His contract expires in 2006.
