Richard Roberts Jr. of Sylvania has accepted a University Scholarship from Ohio State University, where he will enter the honors program as a political science major.

The award is valued at $7,200 over four years. Richard is a 2004 graduate of St. John's Jesuit High School.

Katherine Stoll, a 2004 graduate of St. Ursula Academy, has received an athletic scholarship for rowing from the University of Cincinnati, valued at $3,070.

The scholarship is renewable for four years. Katherine plans to study law.

Heather Haynes of Toledo has been awarded a $2,500 Pepsi Ohio University Campus Leadership Scholarship for the coming school year.

She was recognized for her involvement in the Black Student Cultural Programming Board, the Sigma Lambda Gamma Sorority, Inc., and the Student Activities Commission.

Andrew Cousino of Monroe, a magna cum laude graduate of St. Mary Catholic Central High School, has received the William J. and Hildreth C. Braunlich Scholarship at Monroe County Community College.

The award of $1,500 will cover tuition, books, supplies, and fees for one year.

Andrew was a member of the National Honor Society and member of the Student Senate. He received the Michigan Merit Award and the Geometry Course Award and was named to the First Team All-Region and All-District soccer teams.

Leadership scholarships of $1,000 have been awarded to Eric Finkenbiner of Springfield Township and Melissa Marvin of Swanton, employees at the Chick-fil-A restaurant at Westfield Shoppingtown Franklin Park,

The scholarships are given by the Chick-fil-A restaurant chain to employees who show excellence in work, education, community, and personal development.

Eric will be a biology student at Southwest Missouri State University, and Melissa will be an art education major at Evangel University.
