Tiffin school boss will leave Sept. 1

TIFFIN - Tiffin City Schools Superintendent Denise Callihan is leaving the district Sept. 1 to take charge of the Lancaster school district near Columbus.

Ms. Callihan, who has headed the Tiffin schools since October, 1997, formerly was assistant superintendent and principal of Krout School.

During her tenure as superintendent, she oversaw construction of a $15.2 million middle school on Martha Street that opened in June, 2003.

The school board accepted Ms. Callihan's resignation at a special meeting yesterday morning. The board will hold another special session at 4:30 p.m. Aug. 10 to begin the search for a new superintendent.
