Rossford board will put 2-mill levy on Nov. ballot

The Rossford Board of Education decided at a special meeting last night to put a 2-mill continuous capital improvement levy on the Nov. 2 ballot.

James Rossler, Jr., district treasurer, said the levy would raise $783,644 a year. It would cost $61.25 a year for the owner of a home valued at $100,000.

A levy for the same amount was defeated by voters last week. Board of Education members expressed disappointment with low voter turnout but were optimistic about support in November.

Plans for the failed levy, which board president Michael Spahr said will be fine-tuned, included replacing windows and lighting at Eagle Point Elementary and replacing the parking lot and gym roof at Glenwood Elementary.
