Student of the Week: Christopher Gilsdorf

Christopher Gilsdorf, a senior from Toledo, is ranked No. 1 in his class. He plans to attend the University of Michigan, Case Western Reserve University or Dartmouth College and major in pre-medicine and biomedical engineering with a possible minor in music performance.

His favorite subjects include advanced placement English, advanced placement calculus, chemistry and German and he carries a 4.5 grade point average.

Chris is recipient of Whitmer's outstanding student award and outstanding German student award for grades 9-11. He has a No. 1 rating in the Class A division solo and ensemble competition on the French horn. He is a Rensselaer math and science medalist.

He is a member of the marching, symphonic and jazz bands, Toledo Youth Orchestra, pit orchestra and the District 1 honors band. Chris is a member of the science club, German club, National Honor Society and cross-country team, and is science, math and German honorary.

"Chris is a brilliant young man with a bright future," said English teacher Keith Malcolm. "I predict that he will do something great for this world."

Christopher is the son of John Gilsdorf and Donna and Tim Kozak.
