10/20/2004

Aaron Roelfs, a senior from Erie, is ranked No. 1 in his class. He plans to attend a four-year university and play football. His favorite subjects are science and computer and he carries a 4.0 grade point average. He is undecided on a major.

Aaron was recognized as the 2003 Monroe County Academic All-Star, and received the Lenawee County Athletic Association Scholar Athlete Award in football, basketball and track.

In addition to volunteering for the Monroe County Special Olympics, Aaron is involved in student council, youth in government and the National Honor Society.

"Aaron is one of the nicest young men I have ever met," said retired teacher Mary Luft. "He is a true gentleman, and cares just as much about his academics as he does sports. It was a privilege to have had him in my classes."

Aaron is the son of Don and Diana Roelfs.
