Student of the Week: John Colvin

John Colvin, a senior from Oregon, plans to attend Ohio State University, majoring in chemical engineering. He carries a 4.2 grade point average and his favorite subjects include chemistry, calculus and American history.

He is president of the National Honor Society chapter in school; vice president of the Limelighters; treasurer and bass section leader for the choir; stage manager/first chair tuba in the band; and boys' section leader in the show choir. He in involved in Quiz Bowl and Strive.

"John is hard-working, sharp and has an incisive wit that I have enjoyed for four years," said teacher Scott Bruns. "He has been a very positive presence in our humanities program."

John is the son of Branch and Colleen Colvin.
