Student of the Week: Neal Sheldon

Neal Sheldon, a senior from Blissfield, will attend The University of Toledo or Western Michigan University, majoring in mechanical engineering. His favorite subject is math and he carries a 4.0 grade point average.

Neal is a Wendy's Scholar Athlete nominee; a three-year member of the National Honor Society and Junior Rotarian.

He is co-captain of the varsity football and basketball teams and runs track and field. He is a two-time recipient of the Sportsmanship Award, All-League Academic, and All-League and All-Region Hurdles. He was voted Track and Field Most Valuable Player.

Neal is a student council member and participates in the mentor program and youth group.

He is active in his church tech team; participated in make-a-difference day, and is a volunteer for red flag football and Pop Warner tackle football.

"Neal is a bright young man with many leadership qualities," said principal Jerry Johnson. "His outgoing personality, intelligence and desire to help others will take him far in life."

Neal is the son of Mike and Kathy Sheldon.
