Leader of Findlay schools to exit at school year's end

1/12/2005

FINDLAY - Findlay City Schools Superintendent Robert Lotz said Monday he intends to retire - for the second time - at the end of the school year.

Mr. Lotz was treasurer of the school district 20 years before being named superintendent in 1998. He retired at the end of 2001 to begin collecting state retirement benefits but was immediately rehired by the school board.

In January, 2002, he was given a new four-year contract that increased his $90,423 salary by 3 percent.

Mr. Lotz told the board this week he felt he'd done all he could for the district, which in November passed an additional 4.9-mill levy. His retirement is effective July 31.
