Students at Mason Junior High School in Erie, Mich., psych up at an academic pep rally for the Michigan Educational Assessment Program test, which begins Monday. At one point, Mason had the lowest scores in the county. Last year, the school made adequate yearly progress, but it needs to do so again to avoid penalties.
