Students at Park Elementary School in Swanton, who had been asking how they could help with the tsunami disaster relief effort in southern Asia, have pitched in with pennies and other coins to raise hundreds of dollars. Fourth-grade students here, from left, are Jacob Ervin, Kyrstin Terwilliger, D.J. Franklin, Jourdan Ramerez, and Courtney Koback. Before school and during their lunch hours, the students deposited money in designated containers. Students in the homeroom that earns the most points will be treated to a popcorn and movie party, said teacher Sara Koralewski, rear, who organized the fund-raising event that was called a 'penny war.'
