Student of the Week: Kelsey Green

Kelsey Green, a senior from Toledo, plans to attend the University of Toledo, pursuing a degree in pharmacy. She carries a 4.5 grade point average and enjoys German IV, anatomy and physiology.

Kelsey is recipient of the Presidential Academic Excellence Award, Coaches Award, honorable mention for the city tennis team, and a superior rating at the OMEA Solo and Ensemble Competition for orchestra.

She is captain of the tennis team, president of the Wrestlerettes and the Red Cross Club, German American Festival Honor Society member, and has been awarded several varsity letters and the honors diploma.

She is a member of the Toledo Youth Orchestra, senior orchestra, and tennis and broomball teams, and has volunteered for the blood drives and the literature drop for Toledo Public Schools.

"Kelsey has an exuberance for life which she brings to everything - learning, club involvement, sports, and school service," said German teacher Brenda Mocek. "She is a joy to know."

Kelsey is the daughter of Bethel Green, Jr. and Jill Green and stepdaughter of Lorilee Ash-Green.
