Student of the Week: Samina Bhumbra

Samina Bhumbra, a senior from Toledo, plans to explore the field of science in college, possible in medicine or engineering. She carries a 3.9 grade point average and enjoys modern world history, calculus, physics, Spanish, French and English.

Samina is recipient of the Rensselaer Medal; was recognized by the Lucas County Educational Service Center for her outstanding academic achievement in mathematics; was chosen school student of the month and is a varsity letter winner in tennis.

She is co-editor of the yearbook, member of the tennis, environmental, volunteer, French and Spanish clubs, National Honor Society, and Mid American Model United Nations. She enjoys playing the piano, volunteering through school clubs, and participating in Race for the Cure.

"Samina is an exceptional young woman who is both an outstanding student and an important leader in our school community," said principal Katharine Hurst.

Samina is the daughter of Drs. Raspal and Nasreen Bhumbra.
