Student of the Week: Emily George

Emily George, a senior from Toledo, plans to attend a liberal arts college to study history. Her favorite subjects are history and government and she carries a 4.5 grade point average.

Emily is a member of the National Honor Society and is a National Merit Commended Scholar. She is on the school's president's and dean's lists. She is president of the Latin club; is a school ambassador; a member of Model United Nations, Princeton Model Congress and the student council. She enjoys dance, sailing and being a lifeguard and has participated in St. Ursula musicals for the past four years.

Emily has volunteered as a lifeguard and camp counselor at a Christian day camp at the Huntington Center and at various St. Ursula Academy events.

"Emily is an outstanding student," said principal Jane R. McGee. "She is bright, inquisitive and engaging. Emily's leadership, enthusiasm and passion for involvement are hallmark characteristics that she shares with the entire St. Ursula community."

She is the daughter of Thomas and Jane George.
