Randi Keyes, a senior from Toledo, plans to graduate from the Air Force Academy and lead the country's military as an officer. She carries a 4.2 grade point average.

Randi has been recognized in the academic and sports edition of Who's Who Among American High School Students; received the principal's nomination from U.S. Rep. Marcy Kaptur for the Air Force Academy; and is on the National Honor Roll. She is a three-year varsity letter winner in soccer, recipient of the superintendent's award and the best on defense and 110 percent awards for soccer.

She is co-captain of the varsity soccer team; an indoor/spring Washington Local soccer club player and slow-pitch softball player; treasurer of the math honorary and National Honor Society; corresponding secretary of the Spanish club; and member of the Spanish honorary.

Randi was chosen as a Buckeye Girl's State delegate; is a member of the Ohio State Highway Patrol Junior Cadet program; Toledo Sister Cities International Youth Academy youth diplomat; tutor at Jefferson Junior High School; and volunteer for the local public library and school soccer club.

"Randi is one of the most curious students I've had in recent years," said advanced placement honors English teacher John Mohn. "She has a great interest in international affairs and national politics. She asks great questions, has a wonderful sense of fairness, and works very hard at everything she does. With young people like Randi Keyes in our armed services, we will be in very good hands."

Randi is the daughter of Scott and Karen Keyes.
