Fremont's Terra college announces tuition hike

FREMONT - Students at Terra Community College will pay 4.9 percent more for tuition starting this summer.

The school's board of trustees voted Wednesday night to increase the college's per-credit hour charge from $71.71 to $75.25.

Officials estimated the increase would generate $265,230 in additional revenue, helping offset a projected deficit of $339,650 for fiscal 2006.

Terra President Marsha Bordner said the school expects to have its state aid cut by about $150,000 under Ohio's biennial budget, which must be approved by June 30.
