Student of the Week: Lisa Pongtana

Lisa Pongtana, a senior from Toledo, plans to attend Bluffton College, majoring in accounting. Her favorite subjects are math and accounting, which are challenging to her passion for numbers. She carries a 4.4 grade point average.

Lisa placed first at the regional level and second at the state level at the Business Professionals of America Accounting Competition. She is on the honor roll; is a presidential scholar and a perfect attendance award winner.

In golf, she received an honorable mention and Second Team All-City. She is recipient of the most valuable player award in golf.

Lisa is a member of the Spanish club, National Honor Society, wrestlerettes, science olympiad, senior mentors, Jefferson Madison Leadership Camp and Business Professionals of America.

She has helped with the Special Olympics and with assembling Christmas and Eater baskets for the homeless,.

"Lisa is an extremely well-rounded student," said honors science teacher Robert Borger. "She is intelligent, responsible and personable and will be successful in the future-no matter her endeavor."

Lisa is the daughter of Bob and Linda Pongtana.
