Student of the Week: Gretchen Truckor

Gretchen Truckor, a senior from Sylvania, plans to attend Otterbein College in Westerville, Ohio on a scholarship in accounting. She enjoys math and English and carries a 3.4 grade point average.

Gretchen was a 2004 Buckeye Girls State delegate; received the equestrian team sportsmanship award for two years; and is captain of the equestrian team. She has played violin in the school orchestra for four years and has been a member of the tennis team. She participates in student government.

Gretchen is a Rotary Interact volunteer; worked on a teen board promoting drug free activities; and tutors first-graders at Highland Elementary.

"Gretchen is dedicated to her studies and diligent about any project she works on," said assistant principal Teri S. Schwartz. "She has an excellent rapport with the students and faculty."

Gretchen is the daughter of Thomas Truckor and Wendy Gorham.
