Student of the Week: Kelsey Fenn

Kelsey Fenn, a senior from Maumee, plans to study at Denison, Miami, or Cornell University next year. She is considering majoring in physics and engineering with a double major in French. She plans to study in France or England. She carries a 4.7 grade point average.

Kelsey is a National Merit Finalist, Rensselaer Medal winner, and National Honor Society member. She is a member of the Maumee High School orchestra, Toledo Youth Orchestra, drama club, pit orchestra, and the junior engineering and technical society club. She has been playing the viola for nine years.

Kelsey is a Wolcott House volunteer in the museum gift shop and participated in Mobile Meals during the summer months.

"Through academics, music, extracurricular activities and volunteering, Kelsey has made the most of her high school experience," said Matt Dick, advanced placement physics teacher and honors program coordinator. "Her leadership, maturity, and poise have garnered her respect from her peers and faculty alike. In my classroom, she is that 1-in-a-million student that I have thoroughly enjoyed working with and getting to know."

Kelsey is the daughter of James and Deborah Fenn.
