The Rossford Board of Education and the Ohio Association of Public School Employees bargaining unit have agreed to a three-year contract.

The 105 bargaining-unit members will receive a 3 percent pay increase in the first year, and a 3 percent pay raise in the next two years. Members include bus drivers, food service workers, custodians, secretaries, and school aides.

Beginning July 1, salaries of bus drivers with no years of experience will start at $16.15 an hour. On average, the hourly wage for a custodian will start at $14.88, head cooks will start at $13.62, secretaries will start at $13.10, and aides will start at about $12.

In return, members of the bargaining unit will contribute a 5 percent health-care insurance premium and absorb an increase to prescription co-pay costs. In addition, employed spouses of OAPSE members must take advantage of health- care coverage available through their own employers.
