Gorham Fayette schools select new principal

FAYETTE, Ohio A new junior high and high school principal has been hired in the Gorham Fayette Local School District.

Jim Marquette, 43, of Perrysburg, who has served as a supervisor at the Penta Career Center for three years, is to start his duties here Aug. 1.

He was awarded a three-year contract by the Gorham Fayette school board during a special meeting Wednesday night. His starting salary was set at $65,000, Superintendent Dave Hankins said yesterday.

Mr. Marquette, a 1980 graduate of Rossford High School, received degrees from the University of Toledo.

He was principal at Woodmore High School for three years and an assistant principal four years at Fremont Ross High School.

He replaces Brent Welker, who has been hired as principal at Eastwood High School.
