The Washington Local Board of Education last night approved slightly more than $69.9 million for its 2004-2005 appropriations.
The district spent 97.3 percent of its budget for the school year, leaving a carryover of about $1.9 million, Treasurer Jeff Fouke said.
The school board also passed 80 percent of its appropriations for fiscal year 2006.
Under Ohio law, school districts must approve a budget by today.
Mr. Fouke said the appropriations would be amended to include the remaining 20 percent, probably in December.
