Toledo Christian: Student of the Week - Nick Hilgeman

Nick Hilgeman, a senior from Whitehouse, plans to study International Relations at a private university in hopes of becoming a foreign ambassador, or attaining employment with the CIA or FBI as an analyst. He enjoys honors Spanish IV, contemporary issues and honors physics. He has a 4.2 grade point average.

Nick has been recognized in Who's Who Among American High School Students; has been on the merit honor roll throughout high school; and is a recipient of the Distinguished Christian High School Student Award from the Association of Christian Schools International. He earned a superior rating at the Ohio State Science Fair and the Ohio Music Education Association Solo and Ensemble competition for his percussion solo.

He is senior class president; Hugh O'Brien Youth Leadership Ambassador; and percussionist for the Praise and Worship Team and the concert and pep bands. Nick enjoys doing volunteer work with the mentally retarded and works part time.

"Bright, committed, able to work with and lead others, are a few words that describe Nick," said Judith Cleveland, teacher and counselor. "He is a young man with excellent academic potential and a person of genuine integrity."

Nick is the son of Thomas and Michelle Shepler.
