Toledo: Teacher of the Month - Eric Allore

10/5/2005

Eric Allore, ninth and 10th-grade biology and physical science teacher, earned a bachelor's degree in wildlife biology from Ohio University in 1997.

While teaching math for two years, he coached football, has videotaped football and basketball games, and was a School Assistance Team member. He was the Jefferson/Madison advisor - going to camp and helping to coordinate eighth-grade visits.

He was in the Peace Corps in Niger, West Africa, for three years, hiked the Appalachian Trail to raise money for the Catholic Club, and walked at the Toledo metroparks and Toledo Botanical Garden as a kid's educator.

"Eric exemplifies an excellent teacher," said Kathleen Robeson, assistant principal for activities. "He is always going the extra mile for his students and the school; even if the student isn't in his class."
