PEMBERVILLE, Ohio - The treasurer of the Eastwood Local School District has been suspended from his job without pay for 10 days because of a drunken-driving incident for which he was arrested earlier this month.

After meeting in a closed-door executive session for 90 minutes, the Eastwood Local school board unanimously passed a resolution suspending David Michel, beginning yesterday, "for neglect of duty and failing to deposit school district funds in a timely manner and for conduct unbecoming an employee," according to the resolution.

Mr. Michel, 54, of Pemberville was found guilty Friday in Bowling Green Municipal Court of operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated on Oct. 9. He pleaded no contest to the charge. Authorities said he had money bags containing large sums of cash from Eastwood schools in his car at the time of his arrest.
